About Jonathan

Born and raised in the DFW Metroplex, Pastor Jonathan Pena has been in ministry leadership since he was 19. He met and married his wife Mirna while they served together as missionaries with Global Youth Net under the leadership of Pastors Adam & Jami McCain. Soon after, the Penas helped the McCains launch Church on the Hill in Cedar Hill, Texas. By 2010, Jonathan & Mirna began pastoring The Ezekiel Project -- a vibrant, small groups-based youth ministry within the church. After years of discipling students who now lead the youth ministry, Jonathan & Mirna became Campus Pastors to establish the first campus of Church on the Hill as they launched into Mansfield, Texas, in 2018.

Over the past decade, Jonathan has inspired countless students across high school campuses in DFW to relentlessly pursue Jesus. Jonathan is a dynamic communicator and excellent story-teller with a gift of connecting the truths of Scripture with practical application. His diverse ministry experience has given him a platform to engage people across all cultures and generations through his relevant, memorable messages. Jonathan and Mirna currently live in Grand Prairie, Texas, with their two kids, Anaiah and Uzziah.

Recommendations

Jonathan has been a son of the house since the inception of Hill City. From launching our youth ministry to planting our first campus, Jonathan has been willing to serve the Lord at any capacity. His perspective with culture and his ability to communicate the Gospel in a practical but powerful way make Jonathan a great asset to the church. It is without hesitation that I recommend Jonathan to come in and minister for you.
